We are strengthening our sustainability approach by calculating our water footprint

At Caudal, we continue to take firm steps towards more sustainable business practices. To this end, we have begun calculating our ‘water footprint’.

What does this mean?

It’s simple: from now on, we’ll be able to see exactly how much water we use, both directly and indirectly, throughout our entire production process, from the extraction of raw materials right through to manufacturing.

The ‘Water Footprint’ is a key indicator used to assess and reduce the impact of industrial activity on this essential resource. This initiative will therefore enable us to implement more efficient measures to optimise water use and move towards more responsible production.

How did we go about it?

This project is being carried out under the title “Implementation of measures to promote sustainability through the calculation of the water footprint (CHIS 3)”, and forms part of the Sustainability Voucher scheme, an initiative of the Murcia Region Development Institute (INFO) co-financed by the European Union’s ERDF.

To get the project off the ground, we are drawing on the expertise of the Energy and Environment Technology Centre (CETENMA), which is supporting us throughout the process of analysing and implementing improvements.

We are proud to continue implementing initiatives that reinforce our commitment to sustainability. This latest step encourages us to keep innovating in order to develop a production model that is in line with the environmental challenges of today and tomorrow.
